Smart Sensing and Wireless Sensor Network
December 18, 2012
- Introduction to the course program
- Designing smart sensors and wireless sensor network
- Interfacing issues
- Wireless sensor network – Zigbee based system development
- GUI development using C#
- Hands-on demonstration
The tutorial on smart sensing and wireless sensor network is suitable for undergraduate project-students, postgraduate students as well as engineers working in similar research and development project. The presentations will be good mix between recent developments and established practices.
The design and development of smart sensing system will be presented. A systematic approach towards the design of smart wireless sensor network will be described. The presentations will be augmented by case studies and hands-on demonstrations. The attendees will make their own WSN system starting from scratch.
The course will be presented by Prof. Subhas Mukhopadhyay and his research team. He is working as a Professor of Sensing Technology with Massey University, Palmerston North. He has over 22 years of teaching and research experience, authored/co-authored over 300 papers, edited ten conference proceedings, ten special issues of international journals and eleven books. He is a Fellow of IEEE and IET (UK), an AE of IEEE Sensors journal and IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurements. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Sensors Council.
