Stephen Marsland

I'm professor of scientific computing in the computer science cluster of the School of Engineering and Advanced Technology (SEAT) at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
I'm also theme leader for the Complexity, Risk, and Uncertainty theme within Te Punana Matatini, the New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence on Complex Systems.

I have a degree in maths from Oxford University (graduated 1998) and a PhD from Manchester University, which I was awarded in 2002. After various postdoc positions I moved to Massey University in Palmerston North in 2004 to work as a lecturer. My research interests are in mathematical computing, principally shape spaces, Euler equations, machine learning, and algorithms.
The links on the left provide more information about my research interests and publications, etc.
