On November 2, the series will begin with Dr. Faraz Hasan. Ever wondered how your phone knows where you are or even when it can't seem to find you? This talk looks at the building blocks of a Global Positioning System (GPS) and uncovers the principles and techniques used.
Prof. Hans Guesgen on November 16 discusses the home of the future and the often-confusing term called the Internet of things which underpins it. How a home may be able to take care of us in our own age.
Dr. Ebu Avci on November 30 will discuss the tiny robots which may someday be put in our bodies to solve our biggest biological problems.
Starts at 5.15pm with tea.
At Palmerston North City Library.
